FAQ

Q1. What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass enables private cars, jeeps, and vans to travel through designated National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas without incurring per-trip charges. It is valid for one year or up to 200 trips, whichever occurs first. This facility will be available starting 15th August 2025.

Q2. Where can I activate the Annual Pass?
The Annual Pass can be activated exclusively via the Rajmargyatra mobile app or the NHAI official website.

Q3. How is the Annual Pass activated?
Activation requires verification of the vehicle and its associated FASTag. Upon successful verification, users must pay ₹3,000 for the base year 2025–26 through the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website. The pass is typically activated on the registered FASTag within 2 hours of payment confirmation.

Q4. Do I need a new FASTag to use the Annual Pass?
No, a new FASTag is not required. The Annual Pass can be activated on your existing FASTag, provided it meets eligibility criteria—such as being properly affixed to the windshield, linked to a valid vehicle registration number, and not blacklisted.

Q5. Which toll plazas accept the Annual Pass?
The pass is valid only at NH and NE toll plazas. At toll plazas on State Highways (SH), expressways managed by state authorities, or local bodies (including parking areas), the FASTag will function as a regular tag, and standard toll charges may apply.

Q6. What is the validity period of the Annual Pass?
The pass remains valid for one year from activation or 200 trips, whichever comes first. After reaching either limit, the FASTag will revert to regular functionality. To continue enjoying Annual Pass benefits, users must re-activate the pass.

Q7. Is the Annual Pass available for all vehicle types?
No. It is available only for private, non-commercial cars/jeeps/vans, as verified through the VAHAN database. Use on commercial vehicles will result in immediate deactivation without prior notice.

Q8. Can the Annual Pass be transferred to another vehicle?
No. The pass is non-transferable and is valid only for the vehicle on which the FASTag is registered and affixed. Using it on a different vehicle will lead to deactivation.

Q9. Is it mandatory to have the FASTag affixed to the windshield?
Yes. For the Annual Pass to be valid, the FASTag must be properly affixed to the vehicle’s windshield.
